Gezellig restaurantje met sfeervolle entourage. Het eten was smaakvol maar de portie wat aan de kleine kant voor de gevraagde prijs. Het toetje van maïstaart was heerlijk. De bediening kwam wat ongeïnteresseerd over, vroeg bij het afruimen totaal niet of het gesmaakt had maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken.

This is the third time we have tried this local Mexican eatery - and it was not lucky! I found the food (once again) very bland and unimaginative for a Mexican restaurant and the servers uninformed and uninterested about the various items on the menu. The service was very unfriendly by 'Jordaan' standards. After having a full meal with starters and main courses, we were enjoying the last sips of our drinks when the waitress asked if we would like another drink. The message was clear: Order another drink or get moving! We paid and pushed off. I think this level of service reflects the fact that this place is frequented primarily by expats and tourists and that they are not as interested in repeat business as other restaurants in the neighbourhood. Not an awful experience, but not cause for a fiesta either!

Een klein maar leuk restaurant waar wij op goed geluk binnen stapte. Er was alleen plaats om aan de bar te eten maar dat was voor ons geen bezwaar.
Erg vriendelijke bediening en op en top authentiek Mexicaans eten (dat moeilijk te vinden is in Amsterdam!)Wij sloegen de cocktails over maar de cocktails die gemaakt werden zagen er goed uit!

At Los Pilones, you eat amongst an energetic atmosphere, surrounded by hand-painted, artistic murals covering the walls and rustic wooden furniture which creates a warm and cozy setting. The Mexican menu offers all the traditional favourites, along with pickled cactus sides, salsas and even a Los Pilones variety of tequila, which is actually distilled in Mexico! Before my first visit, I had heard about the restaurant's famous margaritas and was blown away (literally!) by the pitchers of strawberry margaritas, made fresh at the bar with their own brand of tequila. After returning many times over the years, this is definitely a recommendation and experience you'll never forget!
