Op 28 mei 2011 met 9 mensen in Kandinsky gegeten. Ronduit uitstekend. Mooie gerechten, heerlijke wijnen, prettige bediening, juist tempo. Beetje prijzig, maar dat is de enige kanttekening die ik kan bedenken.
Enjoyed a suprise night at the hotel, but while the weather was good, the piano bar was grand and the breakfast was expansive, it was actually the fine dining restaurant that let this place down. The cooking is of a high standard, with the presentation up to the standard of a top restaurant, but there were 2 faults: the seasoning was off in a number of dishes and the service was not as slick as you would find in a top restaurant. Prices are ok, especially the fixed price menu and while the wine list is a bit traditional, it appeals to the international clieantel. Food wise, both the starter mushroom wantons and the gooseliver pate were flat and missed seasoning. Lovely strawberry cavier though. The lobster soup a good attempt, but again lacked a little the depth of flavour. Good sweatbreads though. Service was briskier than we were used to, so we did not really made much of in impression on the mains. Service started of ok, but there were breaks - no idea what the plated of nibbles was - and by the end we had to pour our own water. Not a hardship, but not something you expect at the top level. will probably go back to the hotel, but I think next time i'll spend the evening with the tourists groups in the main dining hall.
Het word weer eens tijd om hier gaan te eten. De grietfilet met truffelsaus die ik daar enige jaren geleden heb gegeten proef ik nog steeds. Het is altijd een genot om hier te eten en de bediening is uitstekend.
